The Craft Pakistan Is Famous For — Finally Shipped Worldwide
A deep look at the artisan traditions behind every product we sell.
Walk through the streets of Karachi and you will see it everywhere — trucks painted in electric blues, roses, peacocks, and geometric swirls so vivid they look like moving murals. This is Pakistani truck art, a folk tradition more than 70 years old, and one of the most visually spectacular craft forms on earth.
Why We Started Ibrahimtoppicks
The artisans behind these traditions — the painters, the embroiderers, the block-printers, the quilters — have been creating masterpieces for generations. But their market has always been local. The global buyer who would treasure their work had no way to find it.
We built Ibrahimtoppicks to change that. Every product in our physical shop is made by family artisans in Karachi — no factories, no mass production, no middlemen. Real hands. Real craft. Real stories.
4 Craft Traditions. Hundreds of Years of History.
Truck Art — Originating in the 1920s as decorative painting on transport vehicles, Pakistani truck art has evolved into one of the world's most recognizable folk art styles. Bold florals, birds, geometric patterns, and vivid color combinations are painted entirely by hand.
Shisha Mirror Work — An ancient South Asian embroidery technique where tiny glass mirrors (shisha) are individually hand-stitched into fabric. Each mirror is believed to reflect away negativity and invite good fortune. A single cushion cover takes our artisans 3 full days to complete.
Ajrak Block Printing — Recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage, Ajrak is Sindh's most treasured textile. Each piece passes through up to 16 stages of hand block-printing using natural indigo and madder vegetable dyes — a process taking 7+ days per piece.
Sindhi Ralli Quilting — The word "Ralli" means "to mix." Women artisans of Sindh have been hand-stitching bold geometric patchwork quilts for generations, passing the skill mother to daughter. Each quilt takes 100+ hours to complete and softens beautifully with every wash.
